All Umrah pilgrims must have a meningitis vaccination at least ten days prior to their travel, according to a directive from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health. The most recent health recommendations for Umrah pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia include this need.
As of February 10, all pilgrims performing the Umrah must receive the meningitis vaccine as a health requirement.
The following guidelines must be followed by all Umrah pilgrims in order to guarantee adherence to Saudi Arabia's health regulations:
- Get the Meningococcal quadrivalent (ACYW-135) polysaccharide vaccination or the Meningococcal ACYWX (polysaccharide conjugate) vaccine.
- The vaccination must be taken at least ten days before to travel to Saudi Arabia.
- This rule is applicable to all travelers from all nations aged one year and older
- The name, kind, and date of administration of the vaccine must be prominently shown on the traveler's vaccination certificate, and the health authorities in the traveler's home country must confirm that the vaccine was administered within the allotted time.
- The certificate of immunization is valid for three years.
