Saudi Arabia offers an opportunity for 'Huroob', or runaway expatriates, to legalise their stay

'Huroob', or runaway expatriates, now have the chance to legalize their presence in the in Saudi Arabia.

For a variety of circumstances, such as separation or flight from employers and sponsors, migrants who are categorized as illegal have until January 29, 2025, to legalize their status.

The steps established by the Saudi government will be followed in order to legalize the status of runaway or absconding expatriates.

The processes for this should be completed using the Ministry's Qiwa portal. The first step in changing careers is to locate a new sponsor. The sponsor must also be ready to take on the employee's present debts and other obligations. The modification will be feasible after the new sponsor has given their approval. Those in Hurub before to December 1, 2024, are eligible for the opportunity. Domestic workers, however, are not eligible for the payment.
