Saudi Arabias NEOM unveiled Leyja- the latest addition to its portfolio of ecotourism developments
16 Oct 2023
NewsLeyja, the newest ecotourism initiative in Saudi Arabia, was revealed on Sunday by NEOM. It begins on the Gulf of Aqaba shore and travels inland through a valley encircled by mountains rising to a height of 400 metres. As part of the Kingdom's aspirations to develop a robust and sustainable tourist sector under Vision 2030, NEOM is working to become a more diverse destination.
The development will use cutting-edge ecological design and construction methods to retain 95% of its land for natural areas. Three ecologically friendly hotels that will have 120 boutique rooms and suites are part of the project.
The first property, which climbs the valley's cliffs like a stairway, appeals to adventure and climbing aficionados. The largest oasis in the valley will be the centre of the second property, and an immersive health retreat will be the third.
Leyja will provide a range of experiences and activities when it is finished, such as hiking, mountain biking, infinity-style rooftop pools, and exquisite dining. With a staircase-like ascent up the valley's cliffs, the first property caters to adventure and climbing aficionados.
