News EventArchaeological gems dating from the Neolithic to the early 20th century may be found in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, there may not be a finer location in the area to hold a gathering of the top experts in history and antiquity from across the globe.
The Kingdom will host the first AlUla World Archaeology Summit from September 13 to 15 in the namesake historic oasis city. The summit will be run by the Royal Commission for AlUla and held in the Maraya Concert Hall in AlUla. It happens at a time when the Saudi government is putting rules into place that will make it simpler for local and foreign archaeologists to explore and study the numerous cultural heritage sites found in the northwest of the kingdom. The summit will include 60 speakers from all around the world with a range of professional backgrounds and specialities, including media and entrepreneurship as well as cultural heritage and archaeology.
The RCU was established in 2017 by royal order and given the responsibility of maintaining and advancing AlUla in accordance with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 plan for social reform and economic diversification. The AlUla gathering had been categorised as a summit rather than a simple conference because of the variety of experience that participants would be bringing to the table, according to Alsuhaibani, the RCU's executive director of archaeology, conservation, and collections.
