The Saudi Manuscripts Exhibition is taking place in Riyadh until December 7, showcasing human heritage that spans over 1,200 years. The exhibition combines historical diversity with modernity, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s dedication to preserving global cultural heritage and fostering intercultural dialogue, according to the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.
Organized by the Libraries Commission, the event serves as a global hub for dialogue and innovation, offering 22 workshops and 30 panel discussions to engage visitors and researchers.
Featuring over 2,000 rare manuscripts — including records from the cultural and intellectual history of the Arabian Peninsula, ancient Qur'an copies, and texts on science, medicine, and astronomy, as well as manuscripts from the First Saudi State — the exhibition showcases the depth and universality of human heritage.
Its goal is to emphasize the Kingdom's key role in preserving and protecting cultural heritage while raising awareness of its civilizational significance.
