Saudi passport for one of the adopted family members can be issued via the Absher platform

A new electronic service has been launched by the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) that enables the Saudi citizen who is the family's head to obtain a Saudi passport for one of the adopted family members using the Absher platform of the Ministry of Interior.

To use the service, one must first log in to Absher, choose Family Member Services, then apply for the foster families program by completing the necessary information, accepting the declaration and pledge, and finally submitting the application, according to Jawazat.

With the help of the service, citizens will be able to issue passports more easily and electronically. Those citizens who want to take advantage of it are encouraged to visit the Absher platform. The requirements for adopting children state that the wife must be under 50 years old, the family must be a Saudi couple, and the family must be Saudinational. Women are only allowed to adopt children in only specific situations.

In addition to demonstrating that there are no infectious or communicable diseases among the family members, the medical examination must show that there are no more than three children under the age of six. It will be confirmed whether the foster home has a history of good behavior. Through social study, the family's ability to provide for the child's social, psychological, and financial needs will be demonstrated.
