Saudi runner Essa Kzwani secured the gold medal in the 800 meters race at the 19th Asian Games

Essa Kzwani of Saudi Arabia won the gold medal in the 800 metres race at the 19th Asian Games in China, clocking a time of 1:48.05 minutes. The 21-year-old athlete won Saudi Arabia's second gold medal and the country's fifth overall at the Asian Games. Despite failing to beat his personal best of 1:47:18 minutes set earlier this year, Kzwani won his first gold medal in his career at the Asian Games.

Yousef Masrahi won the gold medal in the 400 metres at the Asian Games, giving Saudi Arabia its first medal in the sport.

Hussein Al-Hizam also won silver in pole vault, while Abdullah Abkar won silver in the 200 metres and Mohammed Tolu won silver in shot put.
