Taif of Roses festival to act as an economic driver of long-term growth in the Kingdom

Taif residents have always had a special bond with roses, and only recently the city held its annual "Taif of Roses" celebration.

The event was started by the Ministry of Culture with assistance from the Quality of Life Programme and cooperation from the Municipality of Taif Governorate.

The event, now in its third year, gave the city even greater opulence and luminosity.

Several activities were held in conjunction with the festival to introduce visitors and tourists from around the world to the Taif rose culture and to make the festival an economic driver of long-term growth in the Kingdom.

These activities gave guests the chance to learn more about the Taif rose's rich past, which has been preserved for more than 300 years in mediaeval palaces.

Al-Kaaki Palace, whose wonderful architectural creativity using juniper wood, granite stone, and coloured glass, based on the Hijaz design, mixes with the ancient Roman style, was photographed by tourists as a keepsake.

Heritage palaces of the Taif Governorate demonstrate the governorate's financial situation at the period, which is mirrored in the city's architecture.

Al-Kateb, Jabra, Al-Sabban, Al-Kaaki, Al-Buqari, Al-Dahlawi, and Al-Qama are just a few of the governorate's well-known palaces, each of which exudes a distinct aesthetic vibe.

Al-Kaaki Palace, which was erected in 1358 AH and included 40 rooms, 10 baths, and six kitchens distributed across three stories, was photographed by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Large interior courtyards of the palace are encircled by rose gardens, vegetable gardens, and orchards. Additionally, it has a well that supplies fresh water to the palace.
