The fifth International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition will begin in Riyadh on Thursday

News EventOn Thursday, the sixth International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition, a cultural and entertainment event exhibiting the historic sport, will be off in Riyadh. The show, which ran for ten days at the Saudi Falcons Club's headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, highlighted the club's dedication to conserving and developing falconry traditions.
The exhibition includes a vast pavilion of weaponry, which brings together the traditions of falconry, hunting, land and sea voyages, and associated pastimes.
The exhibition, which is aimed at visitors from all walks of life, particularly falconry lovers, hunters, and camping enthusiasts, wants to pass along this rich tradition to current and future generations as an important cultural legacy in the Kingdom. The show contains a specialised museum with information about falconry's history, as well as an art, painting, and calligraphy display. It hosts a variety of events and pavilions that combine cultural and entertainment elements to enhance the visiting experience.
The last four shows drew a large number of visitors. In 2018, there were around 150 exhibitors and 120,000 guests, with an average of 24,000 visits each day. In 2019, the number of exhibitors climbed to 300, bringing 350,000 people, with a daily average of 70,000. After recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibition had even greater popularity in its third installment in 2021. It gathered 500,000 people and 350 exhibitors, with weapon sales exceeding SR200 million ($53 million). The number of exhibitors increased to 400 in 2022, and the total number of visitors topped 512,000.
The reserve is presently taking applications from anyone who want to go hunting or camping in the coming months.
