Use of tanning beds and tattoo paraphernalia banned in Saudi Arabia as part of new health regulations

NewsThe use of tanning beds and tattoo accessories is prohibited by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipalities and Housing as part of a comprehensive set of new health laws that will go into effect in 180 days. By requiring more stringent sanitary procedures and outlawing the reusing of shaving blades, the new rules are primarily intended to improve public health and safety in barbershops.
Salons must now have sterilization equipment to guarantee that all tools are cleaned after every usage. Furthermore, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority-approved cosmetics and goods will be the only ones permitted.
These adjustments were presented by the Ministry as a part of a continuous initiative to modernize and enhance men's grooming services throughout the Kingdom and to promote a more orderly and investor-friendly urban environment.
Additional health regulations include limitations on employee behavior, such as forbidding barbers from touching their mouth or nose while providing services and mandating that they stop working if they show any signs of disease.
Women are only allowed to enter the salon under certain conditions, and eating and drinking are prohibited on the grounds to preserve hygienic conditions.
