World Energy Council officially selects Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the host city for the upcoming 27th World Energy Congress

The 27th World Energy Congress, which is slated to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from October 26 to 29, 2026, will be hosted by the World Energy Council. The Congress is positioned to be a global energy centre, with the vibrant Riyadh Front Centre as its background and its strategic location in the heart of the city, one of the world's most important energy hubs.

Following a rigorous and competitive bidding procedure, the Council's 70+ national member committees representing over 3,000 organisations across the whole energy spectrum were invited to participate in this highly sought-after hosting opportunity. For more than a century, the World Energy Congress—which is widely recognised as the most important, inclusive, and powerful energy gathering on a worldwide scale—has been a key player in achieving energy transitions. It does this by bringing together international stakeholders that represent various energy interests.

The Kingdom was happy to secure the hosting rights, as stated by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Saudi Arabia member committee: "Saudi Arabia is honoured to host the 2026 World Energy Congress at this pivotal moment in the global energy landscape."

Over 150 C-suite speakers, 250 presenters, 70 ministers, and 7,000 worldwide energy stakeholders are anticipated at the 27th World Energy Congress. This conference will promote cooperation across many industries, regions, and systems, resulting in a more impactful and fair energy transition.

After the 26th World Energy Congress, which is scheduled to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia will formally take on the position of host for the World Energy Congress. In addition, Saudi Arabia will have a national pavilion at this esteemed occasion. Following the World Energy Congress in April 2024, the Congress will switch to a two-year cycle.
