NewsSaudi Arabia has transformed itself in only a few short years into a significant rising tourism industry since it fully opened its borders to tourists, introduced a flexible e-visa system, and started constructing a wide range of luxury, historical, and adventure-holiday destinations.
Since the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) created World Tourism Day as a worldwide holiday on September 27 to honour the industry's ability to help build bridges between cultures, many people believe that the Kingdom is the obvious option to host a multitude of activities to commemorate the occasion in 2023. The seminars and talks this year, which will be held in Riyadh on September 27 and 28, will focus on the possibilities and challenges facing the sector in line with the organization's three main themes of "people, planet, and prosperity."
This year, Saudi Arabia will preside over the organization's executive council, and the Kingdom will serve as a significant regional tourism ambassador thanks to the establishment of the organization's first regional office in the Middle East in Riyadh.
