Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the Second Industrial City in Riyadh becomes operational

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Centre has opened for business in Riyadh's Second Industrial City. The National Industrial Development and Logistics Programme (NIDLP), in collaboration with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), established the centre.

The CEO of NIDLP, Eng. Sulaiman Al-Mazrou, and President Dr. Munir Al-Desouki of KAUST, together with other representatives from important organisations, authorities, and top IT businesses, attended the inaugural event. This stage is part of the program's initiative, which is being carried out in collaboration with MODON and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), with support and direction from Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar AlKhorayef, who also serves as the NIDLP Programme Committee Chairman.

The initiative's goals are to create and execute plans and strategies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and enhance workers' abilities to boost both regional and worldwide competitiveness. Additionally, it seeks to promote the industry by offering technical advice, technical training, and creative solution development that supports the adoption of sophisticated manufacturing processes and raises the industrial sector's maturity.

By the end of 2025, the plan aims to activate five capabilities centres. The centre offers a variety of services that are reflected in courses designed to assist CEOs and workers in factories. This is to establish advanced manufacturing skills, innovative services, collaborations, and consultations, as well as to achieve excellence in manufacturing and adapt to contemporary industry trends.

With two key target areas, local content and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and four core sectors—energy, mining, industry, and logistics services, the NDLEP programme seeks to establish Saudi Arabia as a major industrial power and a worldwide logistics platform.

Tripartite agreements have been formed between NDLEP, KACST, and other firms on the fringes of the inaugural event. The agreements seek to help industries in adopting 4th Industrial Revolution technology more quickly by offering them technical and consulting services.
